Area: 10000 sqmDongchang Primary School is a existing school in Luohu, Shenzhen, the project is to design a new building for the future student activities and renovate the existing building for better study environment. We start the project from the activities and behavior of students as well as from the site condition. We created a education complex which vaguely provide spaces for certain activity while creating potential space for future students to explore. It is a building with endless possibilities and potential, it give students a opportunity to find more way to study and even educate themselves.
Different program is marked with different color based on the react of students, the more vivid color brings up a more intense and active emotion, while the light and cold color encourage a focus and steady emotion.

We start with analysing the activity and circulation in each program space, one by one we create unique and different space typology for each program, and then we stack all the program based on the building circulation level and sequence, a education complex is born then.

Mylin Resort Hotel

Area: 15000 sqmMylin hotel is a skating resort hotel in inner mongolia of China, it is adjacent to the Skating court of the comming Winter Olympic of Beijing, it contains 118 guest room, since most customers are elderly people who has health issues, the hotel also provide health recovery center, and onsen center for leisure and relax. The design took elements from inner mongolia building, the massive structure exposed express a rough but intimate atomosphere.
The geometries were spread along the waterscape, a extend guestroom volume unveil the main part of the hotel to the guests as a first glance of the hotel before they actually arrive the entry hall, also from the view of the guests, a vast waterscape lies infront of their balcony. Behind the guest room volume, their is the typical mongolia mountain which stretch along the skyline, the hotel geometry matches the natural landscape and use it as a great background.

XiXi Eco-museum

Area: 4000 sqmThe project is located inside of XiXi wetland park in Hangzhou, the park is famouse for its remarkable natrual environment, to have a minimum impact on natural environment, we developed a concept of single circle over the site. The circle is a covered walkway while all the programs are located below grade, the museum contains mainly multi-media exhibition as well as projection digital exhibitions. Tourists could walk down to the basement through the walkway, they could enter the site from and direction since the circle doesn't have a directional suggestion.
